New Year's Blog Tag....

Thank you to Sarah for asking me to do this tag! So, let's get started!!

New Year's blog tag:

In 2017,
·      What verse/passage has meant the most to you?
Oh, there are so many! But I'll name Psalm 23, Psalm 27 and Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
·      Outside of the Bible, what words of wisdom have you appreciated most?
Um...oh. my! That's a hard one! I received so many words of wisdom that I couldn't possibly name them all, but ones that have especially stayed with me were "Make your husband your hero, and it will solve 99% of trouble". (I'm not married, though! lol)
·      Which one person changed your year the most?
Definitely JESUS! I have been a different person because of Him!
·      What was your biggest accomplishment?
Getting my book, The Light, published with God's help! And being able to participate in a play!
·      What one lesson had the biggest impact?
I learned the importance of keeping Jesus first. The importance of reading my Bible EVERYDAY and being able to talk to God about everything. And listening to the right kind of music a lot.
·      What is one thing you would change about this past year?
The way I treated others...I would want to have treated them better.
·      Outside of the Bible, what was the best book you read?
Oh, I have to name just one? Lol! The SHIELD (coming January 14, 2018), Yes, You Can, Out Of The Dark, Arms of Deliverance, A Secret Courage, The King's Princess ( I believe I read this last one this year, lol!).
·      What was the best movie you saw?
The Gospel According to Matthew (starring Bruce Marchiano)
·      What is the best joke you heard?
Haha, I couldn't possibly name one!! I've heard/read SO MANY!
·      What was the best place you visited?
Probably the Gaylord Hotel when we went to the Teach Them Diligently Convention.
·      What is the most special memory (or two or three...) you made?
Probably being held by my Daddy as I cried on his shoulder.
·      One word/phrase to describe 2017:
Unforgettable

In 2018:
·      What is one verse/passage you would choose as your theme for the year?
I just want to live out the whole Bible, do everything Jesus said to do and not do what He said not to do!
·      What do you want to be able to say in one year as you look back over 2018?
That I grew more like Christ, that I was there for people and that I was an encouragement to others!
·      What is one big thing you hope to accomplish?
Audition for a Christian movie for the first time.
·      What are some smaller goals you have?
Become more active physically, start writing another book, and go visit my sister and brother-in-law!
·      If you could have one person or thing with you through this whole year, who/what would it be?
Just to be surrounded by friends and family!
·      What book(s) do you want to read?
The rest of the books in the Bible that I haven't read yet, any Tricia Goyer's WW2 books that she might write, MacKenzie Morganthal and Isabella Morganthal's books!
·      If you could travel anywhere this year, where would it be?
Where ever God sends me!

I hope that ya'll enjoyed this!!

God Bless you all!!!

~God Is Our Comfort~

This past Thanksgiving I was going through something that hurt me emotionally. Later that night before I went to bed, I wanted to read some verses from the Bible that I knew spoke of God being there for you.

Here are the three passages that I read that night:

Psalm 23 (KJV)

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalm 27 (KJV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lordis the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Ya'll, God wants to comfort us. HE is our comforter. He can heal the pain we might be feeling. He can wipe away our tears.

It might seem like there is no one who cares, but we're wrong. GOD DOES CARE!

We have to let Him in so He can do wants He wants to do. When you are crying and need someone to just wrap their arms around you, let God be that someone. Even when you have a friend to sit there and be with you, they can't take the pain away. They can't give you complete comfort.

But God can. And He wants to.

He wants you to find joy in His tabernacles; He wants you to find rest in your souls; He wants to lead you beside the still waters and help you to lie down in green pastures.

But we have to let Him. God can't and won't make us do anything. We have to open up to Him and let Him into our hearts so that He can heal, restore and deliver us!

Ain't that something that's amazing?

We don't deserve Him in the least but He still begs us to let Him work a perfect work in us!

I try to read the scriptures above everyday, finding comfort when I read them.

We, myself included, need to step aside and let God become the ruler of our lives; let Him wrap His loving arms around us and give us the comfort that He longs to bestow upon us!

I find that wonderful!

Below are some additional verses that I would like to share with ya'll:

1 Corinthians 1:3-5 (KJV)
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Psalm 46 (KJV)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Isaiah 40:10, 29-31 (KJV)
Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him...
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I hope that we will lean on Jesus.  I don't pretend to know everything-because I certainly don't!
But I do know this:
God wants to comfort us.

God Bless you all!
